Several people have asked where there are places to ride in Georgia. So, I thought it would be helpful to create a post about the best places to hit the saddle in the local area. As regular visitors of Journey of The Horse are already aware, there are many different types of horseback riding. In order to simplify the search for local stables, I have separated it into three categories: Therapeutic riding, Hunter/Jumper riding lessons, and trail riding. In addition to the information listed on this post, there are links to each stable in a column on the right side of Journey of the Horse, titled Local Riding Stables.
When beginning the sport of horseback riding, it is important to trust the people and the horses of the stable. Some things to consider are the safety and quality of the horses and the experience of the instructors. Horseback riding can be dangerous if not handled with the utmost delicacy and caution. The stables listed below are all very qualified to meet the needs of beginner equestrians. Hopefully this post will encourage you to begin your own journey of the horse!

Horses scare me deeply...I think it's the black eyes. Regardless though, my sister loves them. We're from LaFayette but she rides in Chickamauga at a place called Mahada Farms (I think that's the correct spelling). I don't know if you've ever been around there, but I figured I'd throw it out in case you ever need a place to ride(The battlefield in Chickamauga is nice too).
